The Team
SunValley Fine Foods was established in Jan 2016. David Surman was determined to establish a quality smallgoods factory on the Sunshine Coast. He started by sourcing some of the finest butchers and smallgoods makers. The team he has gathered, with over 60 years combined experience creating award winning gourmet sausages and smallgoods all around the world, creates a depth of experience that is hard to match anywhere in Australia.
David still runs the crew and there are a number of younger smallgoods makers being trained to become the next generation of smallgoods makers.
The Raw Materials
To make the best smallgoods requires the best ingredients. With a wealth of knowledge in the team they have sourced the best ingredients from numerous suppliers.
Starting with the Pork. Sourcing Australian Free-Range Pork is not only ethically better but provides a superior tasting ham or bacon.
SunValley Free Range Pork is sourced from a single-family owned farm, “Gooralie Free Range Pork” is situated near Goondiwindi on the Queensland’s fertile darling downs.
The farm, borne from a desire to raise pigs in a stress-free environment with a focus on animal welfare practices, is now a pioneer of commercial free-range pork production.
The 10,000-acre farm is an ideal home for the pigs to display their natural behaviour’s, bring both RSPCA and APIQ free range approved.
Being able to forage on pasture, the pigs are also provided with balanced diet to closely match those of their wild ancestors. which provides the full rich flavour of what pork used to taste like with benefits of tenderness and favour.

Sunvalley has won many awards over the years for its Ham, Bacon and Smallgoods. We have recently won the
“Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC)”

The Facility
Having built a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility at Forest Glen in June 2019 the company is well placed to not only supply premium quality smallgoods but also consistently through temperature-controlled rooms and storage facilities.
